PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's senior centerfielder Jeremy Jakubowski (Jarrettsville, Md./Calvert Hall) was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Baseball Player of the Week on Tuesday. Jakubowski was selected in a vote of the school's head coaches and sports information directors.

Jakubowski hit .571 (8-for-14) in four games against William and Mary over the weekend. He was the only Hawk to start all four games of the series. Jakubowski played every inning, tallying a double, a triple, two walks, three runs scored and three RBIs. His slugging percentage of .786 was second best on the squad, while his on-base percentage of .667 tied him for the top spot on the team.

Temple's Matt Mongiardini was selected as the Pitcher of the Week.

The Hawks will return to the diamond Saturday in Winter Park, Fla. for a two-game set with the Georgetown Hoyas. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
