Ahmad Nivins Named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's sophomore Ahmad Nivins has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week for the week ending December 9. It marks the first weekly honor for a Hawk player this season, and the first Player of the Week award of Nivins' career. He shares the award with Jimmy Baron of Rhode Island.

Nivins was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the NABC Classic.

In two games at the NABC Classic in Louisville, Nivins averaged 27.0 points and 8.0 rebounds. Overall he made 21-of-29 (.724) field goal attempts.

He scored a career-high 28 points (shot 11-for-16 from the floor) and had eight rebounds and a career-best four steals in a 75-63 win over Bellarmine on Dec. 8.

The next night against Louisville, Nivins had 26 points while converting 10-of-13 field goals and eight rebounds.

He is averaging 17.0 points on the season.
