PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's men's basketball coach Phil Martelli announced that scholastic standout Chris Wilson has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University beginning in 2011-12.

Wilson is a 6-3, 200-lb. guard from Fayetteville, N.C. and Terry Sanford High School. As a junior, he averaged 17 points, four rebounds and five assists. The team's point guard, he has helped Sanford to an 85-9 record and two state championship game appearances in the past three seasons.

"Chris and his family have embraced Saint Joseph's and the basketball program. He anxiously awaits the opportunity to enhance our program and our school. His game defines the true definition of a big guard," said Martelli.

The Hawks also received a letter of intent during the signing period from 6-6 forward Papa Samba Ndao, from the Senegal and Montverde (Fla.) Academy. He will begin attending Saint Joseph's after the current semester ends in December and will be eligible immediately, but could redshirt the season.
