GREEN TREE BORO, PA (05/06/01) - Duquesne (20-27, 6-13 A-10) rallied from a 3-1 deficit to salvage the final game of a three-game series from St. Joseph's (22-22-1, 9-7 A-10), 7-3. SJU surrendered only five hits, but a season-high 15 walks doomed the Crimson and Gray. A three-run home run by Tim Gunn accounted for all of the offense for the Hawks. Trailing 1-0 in the top of the sixth inning, Kevin Kirkby reached on an error and Jim Reilly singled to right field. Gunn then clubbed a round tripper to put SJU in front. DU then scored a pair of runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to pull away. Eric Wyatt suffered the defeat and saw his record slip to 4-3 overall. The Hawks will have little rest for the weary, as the squad hits the road again tomorrow for a three-game series at Massachusetts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
