Ahmad Nivins Earns Weekly Honors from Atlantic 10 and Big 5

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's senior Ahmad Nivins was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the week, sharing the honor with Xavier's B.J. Raymond. It's the second time this season that Nivins has earned the award. He was also named the Player of the Week in the Philadelphia Big 5.

The 6-9 forward from Jersey City, N.J. averaged 19 points and 14 rebounds in the Hawks' 1-1 week.

He scored 20 and pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds in Saint Joseph's 77-64 win at Lehigh on Dec. 2. Nivins followed that with a team-high 18 points and 11 boards on Dec. 6 versus Creighton. In the two game, Nivins connected on 12-of-18 field goal attempts

Nivins, who is averaging 18.3 points and 11.7 assists, leads the A-10 with five double-doubles on the year.

The Hawks (3-4) return to action on Tuesday when they visit Towson.
