PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's Hawks are heading to New York City for the NIT Semifinals beginning on Tuesday, March 29, at Madison Square Garden. SJU will face Memphis in the first semifinal at 7 p.m., followed by South Carolina against Maryland at 9:30 p.m. Both games will be televised on ESPN2.
SJU is continuing its remarkable season in which the Hawks have rebounded from a 3-6 start to win 20 games in 2005, and this week, will be one of eight teams in the nation still playing. The Hawks are 23-11, having won four consecutive NIT games.
Saint Joseph's is making its first trip to the NIT semifinals since coach Phil Martelli's first season, 1995-96, when he guided the Hawks to the NIT championship game. SJU was defeated by Nebraska in the title contest.
Memphis is 22-15 overall and advanced to the semifinals with wins over Northeastern, Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt.

Please note, when selecting seat locations SJU is the designated visting team for Tuesday's semifinal game. To sit with fellow Hawks, select seats in all areas behind sections 17, 18 and 19 behind the visitors bench on the 7th Avenue Side of the Arena.
If you would like to purchase bus transportation, please complete the form below and return it to the Hawk Ticket Office no later than Noon on Monday, March 28th via fax (610) 660-2905 or 660-3307 to reserve your seat on the bus. The Bus will depart from the Fieldhouse on game day approximately 5 hours prior to game time and will depart the arena 30 minutes following our game. The cost for round-trip transportation is $30.
