PHILADELPHIA (12/1/03) - The 12th-ranked Saint Joseph's Hawks will open the 2003-04 home schedule on Tuesday, December 2, against San Francisco at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. With a 3-0 record, the Hawks moved up to 12th in this week's Associated Press Top 25 and remained 14th in the ESPN/USA Today Poll. Saint Joseph's edged Old Dominion, 75-72, on Saturday evening as Jameer Nelson scored 24 points and Delonte West added 23. Nelson received Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors for the second time as he averaged 18.5 points in the Hawks' wins over Boston University and Old Dominion. San Francisco is coming off a win over Delaware on Sunday. The Dons, who are 3-3 on the year, have made three separate trips east in just the first few weeks of the season. In home openers at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse, the Hawks have won five straight and 13 of the last 14. The game will not be televised but will be broadcast on WPEN-Radio (950 AM) with Tom McCarthy and Joe Lunardi calling the action.
