PHILADELPHIA (02/16/03)- Saint Joseph's sophomore guard Delonte West was named Atlantic 10 Conference co-Player of the Week for the week ending February 15. West, who picks up his second A-10 weekly honor of the season, shares the honor with Xavier junior Romain Sato. Arguably the hottest player in the nation over the last two weeks, West averaged 29 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals in the Hawks' two games last week. In a 78-59 win over Temple on February 13, he connected on 13-of-19 field goal attempts, 4-of-9 from three-point range and 2-of-2 from the line for a career high 32 points. He also had seven rebounds and five assists in the contest. In the Hawks' 66-56 loss to Dayton (2/15), West scored a game-high 26 points while grabbing a team-high five rebounds and dishing three assists. At one point, during SJU's second half comeback attempt, he scored 13 straight SJU points. He also hit 7-of-8 from the line in the game with his lone miss being intentional. Over the past four games, West has averaged 28.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists while shooting 38-of-67 from the field (56.7%), 15-of-30 from three-point range (50%) and 23-of-25 from the line (92%).
