Ahmad Nivins Earns NABC All-District First Team Honors

KANSAS CITY, MO. - Saint Joseph's senior Ahmad Nivins has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 4 First Team and is now eligible for the State Farm Coaches' Division I All-America team to be announced at the Final Four.

It marks the second time that Nivins has earned All-District honors as he was a second-team selection last season.

The 6-9 senior has dominated this season, leading the Hawks and the Atlantic 10 with 19.8 points and 11.4 rebounds. He tops the Atlantic 10 in field goal percentage (.642) and ranks second in the nation.

Nivins ranks among the conference's top 10 in eight categories while also leading in offensive rebounds (3.9), defensive rebounds (7.5) and minutes played (39.5). He tops the A-10 in scoring and rebounding in conference games with 20.6 points and 12.1 rebounds.

Nivins has scored in double figures in 40 consecutive games and has 19 double-doubles to his credit.

The Hawks (15-13; 8-6) visit Temple on Thursday before closing out the regular season on Saturday at Fordham.
