PHILADELPHIA (11/4/03) - Saint Joseph's University basketball fans will get to relive the past and take the first look at the present with the annual Hawk Hoop Hysteria event on Saturday night, November 8 at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. It marks the largest gathering of former Saint Joseph's players, coaches and managers in one place during the course of the season while featuring an alumni game and an intra-squad scrimmage of the current team. Hawk Hoop Hysteria, started by head coach Phil Martelli, honors seven decades of SJU players, coaches and managers. The evening will begin with a reception at 5:30 followed by the Alumni Game at 7:00 p.m The 2003-04 Hawks, the defending Big 5 and Atlantic 10 East champions, make their debut with the intra-squad scrimmage beginning at 8:00 p.m. It is the only public exhibition game before the 18th-ranked Hawks open the 2003-04 season against #12 Gonazaga in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on November 14. That game will be played at Madison Square Garden at 9 p.m. before a national television audience on ESPN2.
