PHILADELPHIA - Former Saint Joseph's star Pat Carroll has been on the road working out for NBA teams in hopes of being drafted next week or getting in invitation to a team's training camp.
Carroll travels brought him home this week as he worked out for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday afternoon.
The Hawks' all-time leading 3-point shooter also made a visit to the Boston Celtics earlier this month.
Last week, Carroll went to Los Angeles and went through workouts with five to six other players in sessions that were attended by scouts from a number of NBA teams. Among those in attendance were Houston, New York, Denver, L.A. Lakers, Utah, Memphis and Phoenix.
Carroll was the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Year in 2005, sharing the award with Steven Smith of La Salle. Carroll averaged 18.3 points per game while helping Saint Joseph's reach the NIT Final.
The 2005 NBA Draft will be held on Tuesday evening, June 28, in New York City. It will be televised on ESPN beginning at 8 p.m.
