PHILADELPHIA (02/23/03) - Saint Joseph's sophomore forward Pat Carroll was named Atlantic 10 Conference co-Player of the Week for his efforts in the Hawks' 76-72 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday afternoon. Carroll, the nation's top three-point shooter (65-130, 50%), shares the honor with another solid shooter, Xavier junior Romain Sato. Carroll tallied a career-high 27 points in SJU's only game of the week, hitting 9-of-17 from the field and 7-of-13 from behind the three-point line. He was 6-of-8 from three-point range in the second half, including three trifectas in a 9-2 Hawk run that gave SJU the led for good,68-62, with 4;49 to play. He also added seven rebounds and three assists. Carroll is the third SJU player to earn A-10 Player of the Week honors this season. Junior guard Jameer Nelson has been named the league's Player of the Week three times while sophomore guard Delonte West shared the honor twice.
