HAWKS HOST BOSTON COLLEGE IN BATTLE OF UNBEATENS ON TUESDAY AT 4 P.M.

PHILADELPHIA (12/8/03) - Saint Joseph's, ranked 12th in the nation, will meet Boston College in a battle of unbeaten teams on Tuesday, December 9 in a "matinee" at 4 p.m. at the historic Palestra in Philadelphia. Click here for game notes, and streaming audio. The Hawks, with a 5-0 record, are coming off a 67-59 win over Penn. SJU remained at number-12 in the AP Poll of Dec. 8, but dropped to 15th in the ESPN/USA Today rankings. The Eagles, at 6-0, defeated Massachusetts, 76-75, in overtime on Saturday. The Hawks, ranked 12th in this week's AP poll, are led by Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Player of the Week Jameer Nelson. The senior point guard had 23 points, six rebounds, four assists and eight steals in the win over Penn. He is averaging 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. Boston College is led by 6-7 sophomore Craig Smith, who is averaging 16.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. The game will be televised locally by CN8 and can be heard on the Saint Joseph's Sports Network on WPEN-Radio (950 AM).
