WINTER PARK, FL - Sophomore Jereme Scott had a couple of hits, but Saint Joseph's mustered just two runs, while Pittsburgh struck for three runs in four different innings to cruise to a 14-2 victory at Alfond Stadium. The Panthers knocked off the Hawks for the second time in less than a week.
Pitt scored three time in both the second and third innings and added a single run in the fourth to build a 7-0 lead.
SJU's lone runs came in the bottom of the fourth. Matt Godusky singled through the right side to open the inning. Greg Mason then followed with an RBI double. Freshman Ben Wendle then doubled home Mason with the second run.
Pitt added another run in the sixth and three each in the seventh and eighth.
