Men's Basketball Takes on Drexel in Big 5 Classic on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's basketball team returns to action for the first time in a week hosting Drexel in the Big 5 Classic at The Palestra on Saturday, December 4 at 8 p.m. In the afternoon doubleheader, Penn will face La Salle at 1 p.m., followed by Temple vs. Villanova at 3:30 p.m.

The Hawks' game will be televised locally by Comcast SportsNet.

The Hawks notched their first win of the season last week against Davidson at the Palestra, 76-61. Chet Stachitas poured in a career-high 25 points while point guard Dwayne Lee recorded new career-highs with 13 points and six assists.

SJU is 1-1 on the season, while Drexel enters the game at 1-2. The Dragons defeated Lafayette on Tuesday.

This weekend also marks the annual Big 5 Hall of Fame induction. Two former players will be honored - Maureen Costello of Saint Joseph's and Roland "Fatty" Taylor of La Salle. Costello will be recognized at halftime of the SJU game.

Tickets are still available for all of Saturday's games. Admission to the SJU-Drexel game is with a separate ticket from the afternoon doubleheader.
