Play Sabol's Seven Leads Women's Lacrosse Past CCSU, 21-8

Junior midfielder Hayley Sabol hit the back of the net seven times, including five in the second half, to lead the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team to a 21-8 victory over Central Connecticut State in the Hawks' 2018 home opener on Saturday afternoon on Sweeney Field. Alongside Sabol's seven goals, junior midfielder Rebecca Lane went for six points on two goals and a game-high four assists while rookie attacker Stephanie Kelly netted her first collegiate hat trick (3g, 1a).

The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team dropped a hard-fought match-up at Georgetown, 18-15, in the Hawks' 2018 season opener at Cooper Field on Saturday afternoon. Junior midfielder Rebecca Lane scored twice and dished out a team-high three assists for a team-high five points while in her collegiate debut, freshman attacker Stephanie Kelly tallied a team-high three goals (plus an assist) for her first collegiate hat trick.

Under the direction of fourth-year head coach Alex Kahoe, the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team will begin official preparation for the 2018 spring season on Saturday, January 20. Saint Joseph's returns 24 Hawks from a squad that is coming off of a program-record, 11-win season, which was capped by a run at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament, and has added 12 true freshmen and a sophomore transfer to the roster in preparation of the 2018 campaign.

The Saint Joseph's University women's lacrosse program has added Hawk alumni Mallory Grey (Saint Joseph's '16) to its coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach, fourth-year head coach Alex Kahoe announced on Monday morning. Grey was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter on Hawk Hill from 2014-17 and will be focusing on the Hawks' defense and goalkeepers this season.

Saint Joseph's fourth-year head coach Alex Kahoe has announced the Hawks' 17-game schedule for the 2018 women's lacrosse season. The Hawks will compete against members of the Big East Conference, Northeast Conference, Patriot League, and Colonial Athletic Association during the eight-game, non-conference portion of the schedule before entering into Atlantic 10 Conference action. The Hawks will face a trio of teams that played in the NCAA Tournament last spring in Towson (First Round), UMass (Second Round), and Navy, a squad that reached the Final Four.

Saint Joseph's fourth-year head coach Alex Kahoe has announced the addition of defender Sarah Platt (Wynnewood, Pa./Agnes Irwin School), a sophomore transfer from the University of Virginia, to the 2018 women's lacrosse roster. After redshirting the 2017 season with the Cavaliers, Platt will take the field with the Hawks in Spring 2018 with four remaining years of eligibility.
